We Are Exhibiting! – CV Show 2019

For the third year running The BIL Group will be exhibiting at the Commercial Vehicle Show showcasing our high quality, durable AluTruk® range of sack trucks.
The Commercial Vehicle Show is the UK’s main event targeted to logistics professionals. For the 2018 show over 20,000 business visitors attended with three quarters of these being in a senior logistics role such as Director or Fleet owner.
As an exhibitor the show provides us with the ultimate platform to promote and share our highly renowned brand AluTruk
Previous shows have been extremely successful, giving us the opportunity to network with current and future customers alike. We look to discuss solutions, innovations and find a fit for different business needs in today’s ever changing world of Logistics.
For 2019, we will of course be showcasing our core range of AluTruk sack trucks but we are excited to announce two new product variations!
Firstly of all we have our three position AluTruk® designed with efficiency and safety in mind. The sack truck itself allows the user peace of mind that the load is safe, resting on four wheels instead of two therefore allowing them to focus on the obstacles ahead with the truck taking the bulk of the load.
We will also be launching our brand new polypropylene based Platform trucks which are rated with a 1000kg load capacity. Ideal for a whole host of industries and perfect if looking for a high quality yet cost effective solution!
We aim to be as innovative as possible providing service to the highest standard. Being able to participate in such a prestigious show means we can connect with contacts new and old discussing new and exciting projects to assist them with in the future!

We look forward to seeing everyone at this year’s show and welcome you all to visit us on stand 4G107

The AluTruk team.

A 2019 To Remember For Our Material Handling Sales Manager

It will be a 2019 to remember for the Material Handling Sales Manager Nathan Jones!

Always up for a challenge and looking to raise money for a charity, this year he is looking to push himself that little bit further all in aid of Diabetes UK!
Nathan’s wife Natalie has type 1 diabetes. Day to day life can be difficult for her at the best of times but she still manages to remain positive and get on with day to day life even though sometimes some of life’s luxuries have to be forfeited.

For 2019, Nathan has decided to raise this money and awareness by taking on three separate challenges! Firstly he will be giving up alcohol completely for 6 months. The man loves a beer so we think this is a challenge in itself! This will then be followed by competing in the SF10 race.

The SF10 race is a 10 mile course over the Clwydian range, North Wales over hilly terrain, under military conditions and carrying a burgeon weighing around 35lbs!
This is around the weight of one of our AluTruks!
Now we promote them as lightweight but carrying one on your back over 10 miles is another thing entirely!
The event itself takes place at the start of June and will be a real test of physical and mental strength!

As well as no alcohol and SF10 Nathan is hoping to take part in the 3 peak challenge later on in the year. Climbing Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike all within a 24 hour period.

Nathan commented “Diabetes is a disease that I don’t think gets the awareness it deserves. Type 1 is never diagnosed because of the way that person has lived their life, it is something you get and has no cure. Raising this awareness is important to me as my family see what effects it can have on day to day life”
BIL Group will be making a donation to Nathan’s epic challenge and we look forward to providing updates and support along the way!
Nathan is raising money through Just Giving and we have provided a link below should any of our valued customers wish to support him also!

An innovative way of thinking! – TCT Show

Our Managing Director Mark Farrell and CAD Technician Matthew Walker recently visited the TCT Show at the NEC in Birmingham!

In line with one of our virtues of being an innovative forward thinking company, the TCT show gave us the opportunity to improve on our already extensive CAD and 3D printing capabilities!

Our CAD technician Matthew has already produced high resolution images for most of the range within our extensive castor and wheels catalogue and has already began work on variations of our AluTruk range. With literally thousands of combinations available to us, Matthew is looking at ways we can continuously develop our ever growing CAD facility and 3D print department. We are now focused on developing this area of the company and utilising it to improve our design online section where you can currently see the design of the AluTruk as you build it to your own specification!

The TCT Show is one of the world’s leading design to manufacturing events that focuses on 3D printing, design and engineering technology! The show is a perfect fit for us as a company with our continued investment in these areas and natural progression of the company.

We are already utilising our two 3D Robox printers by manufacturing our very own prototype parts, including castor brackets, sack truck components and axle fittings some of which have already gone to full production  and have been supplied to our valued customers.

Summer Fun In Calne Playscheme!

For the second year running, BIL Group are pleased to donate to the Summer Fun In Calne Playscheme!

The Playscheme is a charity running through the summer holidays to give the children in Calne a safe environment to have fun with their friends!

The Charity scheme is run by a voluntary committee. Funding is received from local organisations, charities and businesses, as well as local fund raising activities.

They can only run with voluntary help and are always looking for new committee members and general public help. For example moving boxes from one venue to another, bag packing and fund raising.

Without additional support the future of the scheme is less certain. It brings a great deal of fun to a lot of children every holiday and it would be very sad if it was to stop.

We believe these sorts of events are vital in the local community and like to shout about them and support them whenever we can!

We think what they do is fantastic and we are very pleased to help! Keep up the good work!

NEW 3D PRINTER – ROBOX PRO

We have recently taken delivery of our brand new additional Pro 3D printer courtesy of Robox CEL.

Over the past year we have been designing and printing our own prototypes and samples for both our Material Handling and Castor and wheel divisions!

Investing in this excellent piece of technology means we are now able to produce samples in a higher volume and to a larger scale!

It also means we are able to ensure dimensions of the prototypes are suitable and compatible with the application before we push forward to full production!

CV Show 2018 – We are exhibiting!

After a very successful outing in 2017 we made the easy decision to exhibit our AluTruk range again at the 2018 Commercial Vehicle Show based at the NEC in Birmingham.

2017 was our first time exhibiting at the show and it was refreshing to see so many people taking an interest in higher quality equipment such as our AluTruk range.

We will be there from the 24th April – 26th April and manning the stand this year will be our Sales Manager Tim Murrow, Business Development Manager Nathan Jones and our new sales team member Steven McKay!

Come and visit us at stand 4H62, We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Consisting of running, mud, obstacles, water and more mud!! A fantastic day and great fun was had by all. Everyone completed the course successfully and more importantly safely!!

This was a fantastic opportunity to show our determination and teamwork and a huge congratulations to everyone involved!

Tough Mudder South West 2017!

On Sunday 20th August 2017, The BIL Group’s CAD Technician Matt Walker and our Business Development Manager Nathan Jones took on a new challenge. Both keen to test themselves wherever possible they took on the monster task of Tough Mudder South West! A gruelling 10 miles of running, water, obstacles and mud!

They both finished the course completing all obstacles in their path and are hoping to get a larger team together for next year’s event!

Nathan’s comments from the day “I ran in the London Marathon in 2016 which was very tough but more of an individual event. Tough Mudder was a whole new ball game! It was great to see so much comradery between everyone and I am already looking forward to taking part again next year!”

Matt’s comment from the day “A great experience that I would recommend to anyone! If I can do it anyone can!”

Nathan was raising money for Diabetes UK as his wife suffers from the condition. If you would like to donate please follow the link below.

The John Bentley School Expedition to Norway

The BIL Group were recently approached by Simon Parry from our local school The John Bentley School in Calne; seeking support for students at the school to take part in a once in a lift time trek through one of the remote areas of Norway.

The students will be departing on the expedition in August 2018 and at the moment are trying to fundraise the money themselves so they do not need to rely on their parents. On top of this they will have to raise additional money for getting to the airport by coach and buying their own expedition equipment.

While on expedition the students will be carrying all of their own equipment and food. They will be wild camping next to remote lakes on the top of some of the highest peaks in the area and running the expedition themselves. The students will be leading the expedition themselves with the support of the staff attending. They are responsible for completing all elements of the expedition from sorting out where to catch the boats, planes and ferries from to navigating through the wilderness. This expedition offer an incredible opportunity for the students as it allows them to develop so many skills and gives many the confidence boost that they really need. BIL are glad to support them with this adventure and have donated £500 towards the expedition.
They are still looking for further funding! If you are able to help please contact Simon Parry mailto:sjp@johnbentley.wilts.sch.uk

Dorothy House

On Friday 12th May, our BDM Nathan Jones noticed a social media post by the local Dorothy House in Melksham who were asking the public to try and trace a sack truck they had loaned out but never received back.

As a company BIL Group felt we needed to correct the situation so we contacted the store about providing a free of charge replacement. We received some great feedback from the general public but in out minds it was a small thank you for all the hard work they do and we hope their new AluTruk serves them well!
